20 Weeks!

Anne has officially hit the 20 week mark so what better time then to show a picture of her growing belly! Anne is feeling much better now with no morning sickness, which played havoc on her life early in the pregnancy. Mary and Carl bought her a super nice pregnancy pillow that has helped her with sleeping, though periods of sleeplessness are still abundant (darn uncomfortableness!). She is feeling Baby Atherton all the time....in fact this little girl is much more active than her brothers ever were! We look forward to meeting her in May of 2011!

Baby Atherton is a Girl!

We are excited to announce that Baby Atherton, due May 15, 2011 is a Girl! Wow, we didn't see that one coming! We all expected a 3rd boy and in fact had decided on a name, but were very surprised when the doctor told us the news. Anne has already gone to Gymboree and bought a new pink dress and shoes that we wrapped up in a Christmas gift and gave to our parents to surprise them with the news. Obviously they were all happy! Can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family!

Christmas Cookies!

The Ribbing family got together the other day for our annual Christmas cookie decoration night. Of course since we now have kids the assortment of cookies includes a lot more frosting (gobs of it) and tons of candy......eating that is. Ethan's routine of decorating included the following steps: 1. Eat candy 2. Put some frosting on a cookie then lick fingers 3. Eat more candy 4. Put a bunch of candy on cookie 5 Eat cookie. 

After realizing that Ethan wasn't producing any cookies for the "good of the cause" we had to modify his technique that including eliminating the last step.

When we finished we split up the cookies and attempted to go to sleep.......with our kids on a sugar high. Oh well, the joy of Christmas spirit is everywhere!
