Camera's broken...economy sucks...just an excuse.

Okay, I have to admit. Our camera is broken and since 99% of our blog postings have included pictures it is hard to post without a camera. Yes, I am guilty of making a stupid excuse for not posting ANYTHING since August on our family blog. I even got a concerning phone call from an anonymous mother-in-law (oops;) worried that the hustle bustle of our lives had taken over so much that we couldn't update our "wonderful" blog. "I'm sorry", I replied, "We're lucky if we can get the laundry done these days!"

Yes, I admit that if I took a little bit of personal time with our blog I probably could update it every once in awhile. My over busy cousin Joe Bartmann proves that fact every time he manages to log on to the bartblog and doodle around,.......which seems to be way more than I can muster. He even manages to keep a garden and has double the children I do.

What's the deal? Well, because of wonderful (sarcasm) economy and the fact that most non-profits are hurting these days we at the Longs Peak Council, Boy Scouts of America decided no to hire a new district executive for the Longmont area. Which basically means I am back to my old job PLUS doing my current job. This has literally stretched me to my limits of what I can physically do, but like all non-profits we have to hold the line until things get better.

I have realized that life is full of excuses that each of us create to give meaning or explanation of why we don't get things done. I am done with excuses. Yes, the economy sucks and I am doing the job of 2 1/2 people. Yes my camera is broken and I am too cheap to buy another one (the warranty ran out 2 weeks after it broke). Yes, I am very busy and have a hard time updating my blog, or calling friends and family to update them on our family.

SO WHAT! Being busy is just an excuse. Period.

No more excuses. No more reasoning or bargaining with my time.

Time to break out the old AAA battery powered digital camera that is barely digital. Here's to me being cheap, which is a fact not an excuse.

Josh, I am so playing my tiny violin right now.
Seriously, I have often wondered how you people with young children can have blogs. (I don't even get my photos posted to flickr for the most part.) But get back at it - I miss seeing those beautiful kids of yours!!
Take care - and congrats!!!
